✨ A fascinating and highly distinctive vintage Seiko from the celebrated “Age of Discovery” collection. Manufactured in March 1990, this Japanese-made multifunction watch combines a nautical-inspired design with Seiko’s sophisticated 6M13 quartz caliber.
The elaborate dial features bold Roman numerals, a globe/navigation-inspired center pattern and multiple indications controlled by the hands. The engraved sailing ship on the caseback reinforces the historical Age of Discovery theme. The collection is associated with Seiko’s early-1990s nautical-themed watches.

⚙️ MULTIFUNCTION 6M13 CALIBER
The Seiko 6M13 is much more sophisticated than a conventional three-hand quartz movement. Its functions include a perpetual calendar, date/calendar indications and alarm functions. The calendar system was designed to account automatically for different month lengths and leap years.
This unusual movement and its moving-hand displays are part of the reason collectors sometimes refer to these Seikos as “Dancing Hands” watches.
✨ CONDITION
This is a genuine vintage pre-owned watch showing normal signs of age and previous use. The gold-tone case displays visible surface marks and wear consistent with a watch manufactured approximately 36 years ago. The dial remains attractive and retains the distinctive Age of Discovery character.
The stainless-steel caseback retains its original Seiko, reference, serial-number and sailing-ship engravings. It is fitted with a brown leather strap.
🧭 COLLECTOR’S NOTE
The Seiko Age of Discovery 6M13-7000 represents one of Seiko’s more unconventional early-1990s designs. Its nautical styling, Roman-numeral dial, engraved sailing ship and technically interesting multifunction 6M13 movement make it considerably different from an ordinary vintage Seiko quartz watch.
The March 1990 production, unusual dial architecture and increasingly collectible Age of Discovery identity make this a particularly interesting piece for Seiko enthusiasts and collectors of unusual Japanese watches.
