⚙️ THE FAMOUS SEIKO 6309 MOVEMENT

The 6309 is one of Seiko’s best-known vintage workhorse automatic movements. It was produced from approximately 1976 to 1988 and became particularly famous because variants of the caliber powered the legendary Seiko 6309 “Turtle” divers, as well as numerous Seiko 5 and everyday automatic models.

The caliber uses Seiko’s efficient automatic winding architecture, runs at 21,600 bph, and is admired by vintage-watch enthusiasts for its straightforward, durable and serviceable construction. The documented specification for the 6309 is 17 jewels; the closely related 6306 is the 21-jewel version.
