A handsome mid-century British pocket watch from Smiths, one of England’s most storied watchmaking names. The De Luxe line represented Smiths’ higher-grade offering, and this example shows why collectors still seek them out today.
Movement: Manual wind, 15 jewels, Smiths De Luxe caliber — Made in England
Case: Brass/gilt open-face case with a substantial fluted winding crown. Case shows honest age with expected brassing and patina consistent with decades of wear — full vintage character intact.
Dial: Crisp white enamel-style dial with bold black Arabic numerals and a minute track. Smiths De Luxe crown logo above “15 JEWELS” designation. Blued steel spade hands for hours and minutes, with a running subsidiary seconds dial at 6 o’clock. “Made in England” printed at the base of the dial.
Complications: Subsidiary seconds
Condition: Dial clean and legible with no major flaws. Case shows typical vintage wear commensurate with age. Movement running at time of listing.
